Eastern Oval
Eastern Oval is an oval sports ground located in the regional Victorian city of Ballarat. The ground features an historic wooden grandstand and has a capacity of around 10,000. The venue was upgraded in 2000 and again in 2019, including new lights, female-friendly change rooms and turf wicket training facilities.
The first recorded match at Eastern Oval was in 1862 and hosted its first first-class match in 1985, while a Cricket World Cup game between England and Sri Lanka was played there in 1992. It has also hosted domestic cricket, WBBL and pre-season BBL matches.
The ground also hosts Australian football, as the current home of East Point Football Club and previously the East Ballarat Football Club, while most Ballarat Football & Netball League finals games are held at the venue and it has previously hosted pre-season AFL matches before the redevelopment of Mars Stadium.
