Camberwell Sports Ground
The Camberwell Sports Ground is an oval-shaped ground located in the inner-Melbourne suburb of Camberwell, hosting Australian Football and Cricket. The ground was the home of former-VFA club Camberwell Cobras who folded in 1995, and today hosts local teams Camberwell Magpies Cricket Club in the District Cricket competition and Old Scotch in the VAFA. In 2016, the ground hosted a WBBL game between Melbourne Renegades and Brisbane Heat while the Junction Oval was unavailable due to its redevelopment. The Boroondara Council unveiled a master plan for the venue in 2001 after it had become outdated, with work performed from 2005 onwards.
The ground is relatively narrow and features two grandstands which are both located in the pockets at either end. The main stand features undercover wooden seating and a function room and change rooms underneath it, while the smaller Hawthorn Tramways Stand is closed to the public these days. There is standing room behind each end, but minimal viewing room on the two wings and an estimated capacity of around 5,000.
